2019 affinis co-worker predictions

As we settle into 2019, we asked several co-workers to share their predictions for the year. While we received one about our company and another on potential medical breakthroughs, it was no surprise that most centered around sports – particularly the Chiefs.

“My prediction is the Chiefs will win the Super Bowl in February,” said Chris Farney, Municipal Streets Engineer.

“I predict the Jayhawks will beat the Cats in football!” said Jason Fine, Design Technician.

“I predict that there will be two, new medical breakthroughs…one in cancer research and one in Alzheimer’s research. Significant progress has been made recently in both diseases to treat, eradicate, and extend life (and quality of life). 2019 will be THE year where a major battle to beat cancer and find a treatment for Alzheimer’s…is won,” said Kathy Minnick, MBA, Controller.

“The Chiefs will make it to the Super Bowl and lose to the NFC by 7 points. Even though I am a Broncos fan, I will root for the Chiefs in the playoffs,” said Mike McKenna, PE, PTOE, ENV SP, Senior Traffic Engineer.

“I think Affinis will have its most successful year,” said Ryan Stobaugh, PE, Field Engineer and Construction Observer.

“Patrick ‘Showtime” Mahomes will be named MVP, and the Royals will win the home opener!” said Kristen Leathers-Gratton, PE, Assoc. DBIA, Project Manager.
