At the end of the year, we announce the winner of our in-house award, the Schmitty. It is given to the co-worker who best models Affinis’s core values. We’re pleased to announce Bill Bishop, a member of our survey team, was the 2016 recipient.
Bill was chosen for this award for a number of reasons. He was recognized by the selection committee for performing quality work, leading by example, and helping new co-workers. He also strives to create balance between work and home life, an important value of our firm.
“Bill is an asset to any team. Whether sharing his experience or jumping in to help on a project, I can count on him to go above and beyond what is expected by his co-workers, clients, and colleagues,” said Rick Worrel, PE, President of Affinis.
To select a co-worker, the three previous recipients meet and develop a list of three nominees. Those names are given to Worrel, who then, gathers input from the other two principal owners, Mike McKenna and Robert Ubben. Together, they review the candidates and make a selection.
This award is named in honor and memory of our co-worker Dale Schmidtberger, who passed away in 2003. You can learn more about The Schmitty and Dale in the “Our Culture” section of our website.
