Cindy Martens received the 2012 Schmitty Award at Affinis’s annual holiday celebration. The annual award recognizes the Affinis co-worker, who consistently models our corporate values and mission throughout the past year. The award is named in honor and memory of Affinis co-worker Dale Schmidtberger, who passed away in 2003.
In her role as manager of recruiting and retention, Cindy has been instrumental in creating and enhancing our corporate culture, keeping us focused on building long-lasting relationships and making life easier for each other. She is a firm believer in the simple philosophy that happy co-workers make happy clients.
“Cindy is truly a servant leader in our organization,” commented Rick Worrel, Affinis president. “Her actions definitely match her words and commitment to our mission, values and the idea of making life easier for others.”
This year, Dale’s wife, Elaine Schmidtberger, and their oldest son, Keith Schmidtberger, presented Affinis with several copies of “Remembering Dale,” a photo album with family remembrances of Dale. Cindy had suggested the creation of the album to Elaine as a way for Affinis co-workers who did not work with Dale to get to know him. It was fitting, then, that Cindy was recognized as the 2012 recipient.
