Every year, we announce the winner of our in-house award, the Schmitty, at our annual holiday party. It is awarded to the co-worker who best models Affinis’s core values. We’re pleased to announce our marketing manager, Peggy Amor, was the 2017 recipient.
Peggy was recognized for a number of reasons. As a marketing manager, she tackles a diverse range of responsibilities and is always willing to go the extra mile to help co-workers – even on tight deadlines. Her commitment to delivering quality work is something on which we can and do depend. In the last year, she has taken on new initiatives to help the firm grow, never shirking her workload.
“The primary criteria for earning a Schmitty Award winner is modeling Affinis’s core values. I was thrilled to recognize Peggy for her work this year. She uses our flexible work place to balance her work priorities with raising two young daughters. Her organization and planning skills facilitate outstanding collaboration with other co-workers. She is a champion of Affinis excellence in our branding and our deliverables. As a servant leader, she selflessly serves others at work and within her community. She holds co-workers to her standard of trustworthiness,” said Rick Worrel, PE, President of Affinis.
To select a co-worker, Jason Fine, Linda Rottinghaus, and Bill Bishop, the three previous recipients, met and developed a list of nominees. Those names were given to Rick Worrel, who then, gathered input from the other two principal owners, Mike McKenna and Robert Ubben. Together, they reviewed the candidates and made a selection.
“We nominated Peggy for the Schmitty, because she is the perfect example of what Affinis stands for,” said Jason Fine, Design Technician.
This award is named in honor and memory of our co-worker Dale Schmidtberger, who passed away in 2003. You can learn more about The Schmitty and Dale in the “Our Culture” section of our website.
