NW Prairie View Road (North and South of 64th Street)

Affinis performed full-time construction inspection for the roadway improvements on NW Prairie View Road, north and south of 64th Street. The project is designed to alleviate the double light signal condition on 64th Street by moving the Prairie View outer road to the intersection of Chatham and 64th Street. The I-29 ramps, both to and from 64th Street, were also realigned and widened to allow better traffic flow.

The improvements included installation of storm sewer pipe and inlets, construction of ADA compliant sidewalks, installation of new traffic signals and street lighting, realignment of the existing roadways, and multiple phases of the maintenance of traffic plan. Our lead inspector was responsible for documentation, communication, and administration in accordance with Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Local Public Agency and city procedures.

Located adjacent to I-29, the work impacts the on/off ramps. Because of this, our team worked closely with the City of Kansas City Missouri and the MoDOT to minimally impact traffic flow of the community.
