As the holidays approach, we often look for ways to give back. It’s a time when many of us reflect on family and community. In that spirit, Affinis is gathering plush throw blankets to support reStart, a non-profit serving Kansas City’s homeless population.
We kicked off our drive November 30 and will be taking donations until noon today. Our goal was to collect 30 blankets, and yesterday, we had already exceeded that with a count of 49. Our new hope is to clear 50, which seems well within reach.
reStart has been working to end homelessness in Kansas City since 1981. Over the years, they’ve served 28,406 homeless individuals, including 11,174 children and youth. They provide housing and supportive services to men, women, youth and families to help them move toward independence.
