Over the last several weeks, we hosted a drive to support reStart, a non-profit serving Kansas City’s homeless population. We’ve selected them for several years, because of their admirable work housing kids, teens, and adults locally. Last year, they needed new blankets, but were hoping for bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths this time.
We kicked off our drive November 28 and took donations through December 9. Our goal was to collect 30 items, and we ended up with 55.
reStart has been working to end homelessness in Kansas City since 1981. Over the years, they’ve served 28,406 homeless individuals, including 11,174 children and youth. They provide housing and supportive services to men, women, youth, and families to help them move toward independence.
