Route 152 Trail
The City of Kansas City, Missouri wanted to add to the existing trail sections along Route 152 in the Northland. This was a continuation of the city’s efforts to provide walking/biking access connectivity to communities throughout the city. The project included a 10-foot concrete trail, installation of storm sewer pipe, construction of ADA compliant ramps, grading, and landscaping.
Our Construction Engineering Group performed full-time construction inspection for the trail construction between Amity and Congress. Our lead inspector was responsible for documentation, communication, and administration in accordance with Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Local Public Agency and city procedures. While working on site, we paid particular attention to material compliance and subgrade preparations, as well as ADA compliance.
As with any trail project that stretches through woods, fields, and creeks, SWPPP compliance was very important. Following SWPPP guidelines and best management practices allowed us to keep a minimal impact on the environment while completing construction.
