2026 – 2027 NSRP, Wycliff Neighborhood
The City of Overland Park, KS moves their community forward by performing regular infrastructure improvements. For their 2026 – 2027 Neighborhood Street Reconstruction Program (NSRP), they selected the Wycliff Neighborhood, which was originally built in the 1960’s.
The City wanted to bring the area, which spans nine lane miles, up to its standards and boost connectivity. To achieve these goals, they are replacing the asphalt roadway with concrete, updating sidewalks spanning the west half of the roadway, and integrating new facilities on the east side. LED street lighting and new tree landscaping will enhance curb appeal.
Mature trees and utilities posed design challenges for our roadway team. Additionally, sanitary sewer is located along one side of the street. This means our stormwater group had to limit where they placed new inlets and stormwater pipes in upgrading the system’s capacity to reduce flooding. This large project is planned for construction in 2026 and 2027 to give utilities ample time for relocation.
