Metcalf Avenue Improvements

99th Street to 103rd Street, Overland Park, Kansas

This project widened Metcalf Avenue from 4- to 6-lanes adding much needed capacity. The project improved storm drainage and replaced two bridges over Indian Creek. A 25×16-foot reinforced concrete box (RCB) bridge was extended and a triple-cell RCB culvert was replaced with a pre-cast concrete arch structure. Pedestrian access was improved by adding sidewalk and a bike trail. Median landscape and irrigation were also provided as part of the city’s Vision Metcalf implementation.
