Survey On-Call Projects

 

Over the years, our survey team has provided on-call services to a variety of public entities. We have performed survey work for municipal and state clients in both Kansas and Missouri and are pre-qualified with the Kansas Department of Transportation and the Missouri Department of Transportation. Below, we’ve highlighted a few of our recent partnerships to illustrate how we work with clients to support their survey needs.

Lee’s Summit, Missouri Survey On-Call
Affinis is partnering with Lee’s Summit on a 5-year contract with a yearly renewal. In our work together, we provide topographic surveys for their in-house design projects. We also perform property boundary survey services to determine rights-of-way and easement limits, write legal descriptions, and create exhibits for easement and right-of-way conveyances. As part of this contract, we have the opportunity to support public works, parks and recreation, and water utilities staff.

Overland Park, Kansas Survey On-Call
Since 2012, we’ve worked with the city to supplement their staff and support projects that require a professional land surveyor. Our responsibilities include topographic surveys, right-of-way and property research, plat and property plan review, and the writing and review of property descriptions for purpose of land acquisition by the city. With this contract, we have worked with the legal, parks, public works, and zoning and planning department staff. We were recently selected to continue this contract through 2023.

Water One Various Survey Services
Since 2008, Affinis has worked closely with WaterOne on survey projects. The majority of our work is to coordinate where existing facilities are located, so they can be a part of the project’s design considerations. When water lines require relocation, we provide the construction staking. We also perform design and property surveys for WaterOne on projects they will design in-house. Our survey staff has worked with their engineers on performing services that monitor movement of large water transmission mains. A key to our success is being responsive to construction crew needs. Office checks are done to make sure WaterOne lines will clear proposed facilities like storm and sanitary sewers. We have also provided as-built surveys and prepared easement descriptions based on the location of water lines as constructed.
