Wyatt Road

The City of Blue Springs, MO wanted to improve connectivity and safety on Wyatt Road. The 2-lane roadway didn’t have a shoulder and was the site of many near crashes. With increased development and higher traffic volumes expected, they needed to make a change.

They asked our team to design a full reconstruction of the roadway. This included new curb and gutter, sidewalks, and bike lanes, which would make the roadway safer for all users. We also added lighting at intersections to improve visibility. All these elements were included in one contract.

After studying the intersection at Adams Dairy and Wyatt Road, we recommended the addition of a roundabout, which would control speeding and eliminate the running of stop signs. To help the city manage the budget, this option was placed in an alternate bid to the project. With the roundabout plans in place, Blue Springs can move forward with these plans whenever funding allows.
