We are excited to share three clients have received awards for projects on which we partnered with one another. That list includes the City of Overland Park, Kansas; City of Edgerton, Kansas; and the Johnson County Park and Recreation Department (JCPRD). Learn more about each honor and how they helped move communities forward below.
The City of Overland Park, Kansas was recognized with the 2019 Kansas ACI Concrete Construction Award in the Flatwork Concrete category for the 2018 Neighborhood Street Reconstruction Program. This project included the reconstruction of 5.59 miles of city streets that abutted a local park. Using concrete instead of asphalt allowed the city to save money, reduce future maintenance, and increase safety over time.
The 207th Street and Homestead Lane project in Edgerton, Kansas was honored with three awards:
- The Kansas City Business Journal’s Capstone Award in the Infrastructure category, which will be presented in the fall due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
- The ACPA Excellence in Concrete Paving Awards for Urban Arterials and Collectors in the Kansas/Missouri Chapter.
- ACEC Kansas’s Engineering Excellence Award.
This complex project is linked to economic growth and development for the area. Discover how these improvements are part of the City’s larger plan in this short video.
