Affinis and Freese and Nichols, Inc. (FNI) have formed a new small business joint venture, Affinis Freese and Nichols JV, under the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Mentor-Protégé Program. This strategic partnership pairs Affinis, as the small business protégé and Freese and Nichols, as the experienced mentor.

Freese and Nichols, a privately owned engineering, planning, and consulting firm, will provide guidance and support to help Affinis expand into new federal markets and regions. Through this collaboration, Affinis will benefit from FNI’s national expertise, operational capacity, and business development strategies.

“We’ve been growing our federal portfolio for years by building long-lasting relationships. This JV with Freese and Nichols is an extension of that work. We look forward to the opportunities this partnership will unlock and the value it will bring to our federal clients,” said Jason Davis, PE, Principal and VP of Federal Services at Affinis.

The SBA Mentor-Protégé Program is designed to help small businesses grow by pairing them with more established firms. Mentors assist protégés in areas such as federal contracting, strategic planning, operations, and financial management. This joint venture builds on a long-standing, successful working relationship between Affinis and FNI — one that has been tested and proven over several years.
