We are excited to announce that Affinis President Kristen Leathers-Gratton, PE, has been named Engineer of the Year by the Eastern Chapter of the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers (KSPE). This annual recognition is given to those who have recently accomplished something significant within their field. She received the award late last week at the E-Week luncheon.

“It’s an honor to receive this award and be recognized by my peers. Over the course of my career, I’ve seen the positive impact that KSPE has had on the profession and local communities by supporting and promoting engineering. Through their work, they are paving the way for economic growth, increasing safety, and moving our industry forward,” said Leathers-Gratton

A natural leader, Kristen was selected because of her involvement with chapter and state activities. She also participates in the Missouri and Kansas chapters of the American Council of Engineering Companies and is a board member of the Engineers Foundation of Kansas.

In addition to her work at Affinis and with these organizations, Kristen also carves out time to support the American Lung Association (ALA). Since 2016, she has been a part of the ALA’s local leadership board. In this role, she helps organize and promote their yearly Climb for Air event. Along with this work, she is currently completing the KC Chamber’s Centurions program.

Congratulations Kristen!
